You need to book your international flight to arrive Kilimanjaro International airport or Arusha airport (domestic airport).

  • The tour starts and ends in Arusha.

  • You will stay in public campsites, located inside the park or on private campsites on the outskirts. The campsites in the parks are not fenced and it is not unlikely that you may find elephants wandering between the tents or bump into antelopes on your way to the shower.
  • Accommodation will be in waterproof 2-person-tents (2.5m x 2.5m and 1.8m high) with built-in mosquito nets at the entrances and windows. Comfortable 5 cm thick sleeping mattresses are provided, as well as robust camping furniture such as tables, safari chairs, functional cutlery and crockery.
  • You will also be accompanied by a skilled safari cook who will take care of your well-being. He will prepare all meals, often even including a packed meal for a picnic lunch. Early morning eggs and sausages, coffee and bread, snacks and evenings with stews and salads,

The camp and food will be set up and prepared for you, so that you can just relax and enjoy your holiday.

Camping Checklist

About The Host

We are a DMC in Tanzania and a safaris and tour operator. We arrange and operate Tanzania safari tours and mountain Climbing expeditions in Tanzania and neighboring Kenya as well as beach vacations to the Spice Islands of Zanzibar and the Kenya Coast. We also combine these tours with gorilla trekking trips in Rwanda and Victoria falls tours in Zambia.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After a short safari briefing in the morning, you will travel southwest towards the Tarangire National Park. The park has a diversity of landscapes including grass, acacia woodlands and forests and it is especially popular for its huge elephant herds and animals gathering at the river and swamps. Animals range from swarms of yellow breasted lovebirds to kudus, buffaloes, giraffes, eland and the weird-looking gerenuk. Predators include lions, leopards and hyenas, while wild dogs are rare. In the late afternoon you will arrive at a campsite inside the park, where you will spend the night in tents.

Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: Tarangire - Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will leave the Tarangire National Park and drive via the town of Mto wa Mbu to the Lake Manyara National Park. This park with its shallow alkaline lake stretches along the base of the Rift Valley Escarpment. Lake Manyara attracts thousands of birds, including huge flocks of flamingos. Other animals in the park include buffaloes, elephants, hippos and Masai giraffes as well as troops of boisterous baboons and monkeys in the forests. The park once became famous for tree climbing lions and if you are lucky to spot them you will be amused by the site of these animals lounging on branches in the acacia trees. After a game drive in the park you will ascend to the Ngorongoro highlands, where you will overnight on a campsite situated on the crater’s edge with magnificent views of the caldera below.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater - Mto wa Mbu

Rise and shine! After an early breakfast at your campsite, you will travel down a precipitous trail into the crater. Its grass plains and acacia forests are home to almost all the species of animals found in the East African savannah. In only a few hours you might see all of the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – as well as eland, mountain reedbucks, hyenas and rare wild dogs. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, you will leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and travel to Mto wa Mbu, where you will spend the night in a tent on a campsite.

Day 4: Mto wa Mbu to Arusha

After a leisurely breakfast, you will start your journey back to Arusha, where you will arrive around midday. You will be dropped off in the city centre or at the airport.

  •  All Costs are based on the prevalent Park fees, concession fees, existing taxes at existing rates. Rates will be increased without notice should any tax be changed or a new tax introduced. Tax increases will be added to existing bookings even if already paid.

CANCELLATIONS DUE TO TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS: 

Based on travel restrictions, clients will qualify for a postpone their travel and utilize their payment. We will continue to review our cancellation fee policy. Standard cancellation terms apply for bookings outside of these conditions.
