This trip starts in Cape Town and finishes in P.E or one can start in P.E and end in Cape Town.

From beautiful mountain passes, old roads, remote farm stalls to the wild African bush one will have the opportunity to discover and explore. An opportunity to experience big “5” safari with lions and other wild cats only meters away.

This is a guided safari experience with either your own vehicle following our lead vehicle or one can opt to travel with guide in arranged vehicle to suite your group size. Min two persons max 8 persons.

Covid protocols are in place and we make use of recognized establishments to ensure your most pleasurable stay.

Should a guest be unable to fulfil their booking due to a positive Covid-19 test or due to external factors associated to COVID-19 causing guests to be unable to travel, our reservations office would require the following documents:

• Positive test results

• Or government confirmation of cause of preventing travelling plus

• Passport copy of guest (this must match up with the booking info we have and match to the person with the positive Covid-19 test results)

Unfortunately, no refunds will be given however we are happy to accept postponements as follows:

• • For South African resident guests, we are happy to offer a 6-month postponement on their booking

• • For international guests (any other guest not a citizen of SA or residing in SA), we are happy to offer a 1-year postponement on their booking

1: HOW TO BOOK

In order to secure a booking, a non-refundable deposit referred to below must be paid. On receipt of your deposit a confirmation letter will be sent with all relevant pre-tour/trip information. In Addition this confirmation will include directions, kit lists, itineraries and other important information. We shall endeavor to ensure that all literature and/or brochures covering trips are correct at the time of printing.

We cannot be held responsible for any changes after printing or for any inaccuracies or errors in such literature and/or brochures. Please ensure that you receive all this information.

2: ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Receipt of your deposit therefore represents an acceptance by you of these/our terms and conditions.

3: BALANCE OF PAYMENT

The balance of the cost of the trip is payable no less than 30 days prior to trip departure.

4: POSTPONEMENTS

  • 60-31 days prior to trip departure – no transfer or cancellation fee will be charged and your deposit will remain intact.
  • 30-15 days prior to trip departure – 50% off full trip value will be charged to transfer your dates.
  • 14-0 days prior to trip departure – 100% of purchase price will be forfeited.

5: CANCELLATION BY XAMA ADVENTURES

In the unlikely event that we, or our operators have to cancel a trip due to any cause, Xama Adventures cc will make every effort to offer an alternative trip. Should the trip not be acceptable you will be entitled to an immediate and full refund. In conclusion should you commit any breach of the terms and conditions hereof or of any safety rules we reserve the right without prejudice to any other rights available to us in law to cancel this contract forthwith.

6: TRAVEL INSURANCE

You are personally responsible for arranging your own insurance and the costs thereof. When arranging your insurance please ensure that there are no exclusion clauses limiting protection for this type of activity. Please note that you and your personal property, baggage and money are at all times solely your responsibility. Furthermore, our tours depart at scheduled times and we cannot be held responsible for any loss you may suffer. Or additional costs you may incur as a result of your inability to meet the departure times.

7: VISAS & PASSPORTS

Where passports are required, the onus is on you to ensure that passports and visas are valid. Check that you are in possession of the required documentation as required by the countries visited. Xama Adventures cc, our staff/agents cannot be held responsible for where clients have not ensured updated/renewed passports or lack of valid travel documentation.

8: HEALTH

Please consult your doctor for specific advice regarding malaria infected areas and anti-malaria precautions. If you are a carrier of a contagious disease you are obliged to advise our reservations office on booking. All travel involves some physical exertion (even non-trekking tours). Examples, altitude, extreme variations of temperature (hot & cold), duration of trip, difficult terrain. Risks and physical exertion of river excursions and associated activities. However, our trips are designed to be within the capabilities of the general public who enjoy good health and are moderately fit and adaptable. We reserve the right at our sole discretion to refuse participation without furnishing reasons in which event you will be entitled to a full refund.

9:PHOTOGRAPHY

We reserve the right without notice to make use of any photographic material or film taken on the safaris by our staff for general publicity or marketing purposes without payment or notice.

10: PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 21

The legal guardian of anyone under the age of 21 participating in a trip shall be required to sign the Booking and Indemnity forms.

11: CHOICE OF LAW

In Conclusion – This contact shall be interpreted according to the governing laws of the Republic of South Africa.

About The Host

We have been operating for the past 20 years offering family, VIP, honeymoon and educational packages to groups wanting to explore a little of Southern Africa. The safari packages are well designed to suite ones needs with flexibility to make to tailor the trip making our excursion more personalized and memorable.

Itinerary
Day 1: Farmstalls and the Breede River

We depart Cape Town and meander along the South Coast to our destination Xama Fish eagle River Camp.  This is a private safari styled camp with glamping accommodation and an authentic bushcamp feeling. 

En-route we will stop at farmstalls , enjoy a zipline across the mountain tops (optional) and visit the historic town of Swellendam for a coffee an walk about at your own pace.

We arrive at our night’s accommodation in the afternoon and enjoy a sundowner over looking the Breede River.

The evening is spent relaxing around the camp fires underneath the centralised lapa, with a delicious dinner served around 19h30. 

Star gazing in the evening is always spectacular.

Day 2: Mountain passes and Baviaans Meander

We wake early for coffee, rusk, breakfast before heading out on our days journey through spectacular passes and some old historical towns behind the Baviaans Mountains to Addo National Park. 

This route takes us along the Mohair Route , a forgotten path of days gone by. A unique strip road gravel road with a centre one way line of cement makes for an interesting experience and pic)

Dinner is enjoyed at the restaurant before settling in for the evening.

Day 3: Addo National Park

We awake to the fresh air of the Eastern Cape and head out after breakfast into the park for a full day of game driving and wildlife spotting. 

Look out for the flightless dung beetle , the African Elephant, Buffalo , lion and more. We enjoy a picnic in the park for lunch before making our way back to our lodgings for the evening.

Day 4: Addo National Park and Schotia Reserve

Today is one of our highlight days , we get to see some animals up close and personal .

We back our vehicle and head back out into the park for the morning. Always best done early for a glimpse of the nocturnal animals heading home and the day creatures awakening. 

A little lunch picnic before we meet our rangers and embark on an open game vehicle into Schotia Private Reserve. This reserve was an old diary farm before being converted into a wildlife reserve with some very special elements. 

A boma dinner and a night drive is on the cards . This is one of the best safari experiences. 

We will sleep within the park.

Day 5: Schotia Reserve to P.E

An early morning game drive before breakfast is on the card. After a scrumptious breakfast we make our way out of the park and head down to a famous farmstall for a coffee before heading to Port Elizabeth to our end of tour drop off.
