9 Provinces, 1 Summer : Western Cape

Things to do this summer in Western Cape

Summer in South Africa officially starts in October and inAfrica is committed to bring the best experiences this beautiful country has to offer. This month we are launching our "9 provinces,1 summer" series with the Western Cape province and our highlights include both popular and lesser-known hidden gems in the region.

Let’s start with Darling a lovely town just an hour's drive from Cape Town known for its magnificent display of spring flowers. With rolling hills of color, this is the place to start your summer. Next move on to West Coast where you can take an E-Bike Tour of the little West Coast Towns.

Moving along to Cape Town you will find vineyards, beaches & mountains of activities to explore. Cape Town has some amazing experiences  to immerse yourself into becoming a Capetonian even if just for a few days.

Enjoy the Vineyards of Stellenbosch & Franschhoek as you hop on and off at some of the world's top wine cellars to enjoy their carefully paired wine tastings. This tour can also be done by 4x4 or electric bike, so why not burn some calories while you are at it ? Guided Hikes through the mountains of Stellenbosch is a must for any bucket list as you take a hike to see some of the region's most beautiful mountain waterfalls.

Moving from the vineyards to Town central where a Coffee & District 6 tour will tickle your taste buds!  We also suggest to include a historical tour of Cape Town, which is after all our countries the first city. And what would visiting Cape Town be if you did not visit Robben Island and walk in the steps of Madiba!

For the more daring at heart Paragliding from Lions Head is a fun way to see the city from a different vantage point, but if you prefer to be strapped into an enclosed form of transportation a Helicopter ride over the Cape Peninsula is just for you.

Do not miss the full day Cape Point tour which includes visiting the iconic HoutBay Harbor, driving over Chapman's Peak, and on your way back stop at the Groot Constantia wine farms, one of the oldest and most pristine wine farms in Cape Town. Lastly, you might want to check out our Summer in Cape Town package , ideal for those who enjoy the Soft-life & for solo Travellers who enjoy meeting new people.

Our 9 Provinces 1 Summer blog series is just starting to keep your eye out for our next installment as we walk you through more provinces.

We would also like to take this time to inform you that all tour operators & inAfrica take your safety and health very seriously. All Covid 19 protocols are strictly followed. Masks are to be worn at all times to protect yourself and those around you, wash your hand and sanitize regularly, and lastly social distance.

When you stick to the rules you keep safe and everyone can enjoy summer 2021.
