Itinerary
Thunder Walker, Marshaltown
The tour starts and ends at Thunder Walker which is located just behind Ghandi Square (named after Mahatma Ghandi) in Marshalltown.
The tour starts with a skateboarding lesson for beginners before we ride out onto the roads and pavements in the area – safety gear is also provided!
A 1906 Edwardian/Victorian style building, it was initially home to the United Building Society - a precursor to ABSA.
It has an underground bar with old safety deposit boxes.
Gandhi Square
Named after activist Mahatma Gandhi, the square is also the city's main bus terminal.
Once home to Gandhi's law offices, a Gandhi statue stands proudly in the middle of the square.
Library Gardens/Beyers Naude Square
Referred to as the LBGs amongst the skateboarding community, it's also the traditional home of skateboarding in the inner city.

The old law offices of Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo.
Dating back to 1952, these days it acts as an outdoor walking museum detailing Mandela's journey from law into politics.
